Description

This is a remix of "Signet Ring Blank No Sharp Edges" by Hodlum.

This OpenScad remix enables you to use an image file of your choice to be debossed onto the surface of the ring. The scad file also enables you to specify the ring size by its inside diameter.

Thing Files:

If you download the files individually make sure to download BOTH! blank_ring.stl and Customizable_Signet_Ring_01.scad and put them in the same folder, so that scad file can import the stl file.

The zip folder contains both the Scad file and the blank ring stl file plus a few sample images.

How to use:

Open this file in OpenSCAD and use the Customizer window to edit the ring.

Important Notes:

(0) This file will NOT work in the current release of Thingiverse's Customizer app,
only on OpenSCAD.

(1) The format of the image file MUST be .png If you have an image but it is in a different format, such as a jpeg, simply open it with Microsoft Paint or another image editor, then resave the image as a .png file.

(2) The image needs to be square even if the design does not use all the space. Using an image that isn't square will result in stretching.

(3) Keep the image size small as it has a significant impact on preview and renders times and if the image is too large it will cause Openscad to crash. I recommend using images 400x400 pixels or lower.

(4) For simplicity I recommend saving all project files in the same folder. If you choose to use image files stored in different folders you must put the full file location into the "Image File Name" text box. e.g. D:\3D printing\ remixes\Lion_200.png
