This showed that I could print a curved structure without support if the sides were kept flat with a 45 degree chamfer into the main section, so I used this idea to create a complex curved shape that is 2mm thick in the middle and 1.5mm thick towards the edges.
The guard fixes onto the 32mm sloping down tube of a mountain bike using two cable ties
