Description
ahhhhh - the product of a few (several) haphazard hours i put in around half a year ago, and have ergo forgotten most of how it works, and had to figure it all back out again.
But, if i can, then you can too!
you will need:
assortment of wires
an LED - the smaller the better. NOT A LASER DIODE
wire snippers
wire strippers
two 1.5v AAA batteries
a hot glue gun
molegrips (or incredibly strong forearms)
an adapter for picatinny to nerf rail - i have modified my nerf gun, and so made it for picatinny. feel free to change it.
some plastic. an old dvd featuring jean-claude van-damme works well - tutorials online for how to make it clear. can be cut with scissors.
a lot of time
solder
soldering iron
two springs
thinnose pliers
i would start by screwing on the eyecaps, since they will be hard to do when the electronics are in place, and they are suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper tight to start with, but get easier.
i dont have pictures of it working that well, since i shattered my reflector lens, but just have faith that it works.
leave a comment and ill respond if i see it haha
you need two eyecaps, and you need to make a file of only the strange rod thing with a flat, widened base in bitsandbobs.stl
not much needs soldering - the LED electrodes, the switch, and the spring things.
as for orientations: print the main body on its end - so that it resembles a cylinder pointing upwards. it will make sense.
as for the mechanism stuff, print as is
eyecaps go threads up
reflector ring is obiviously flat site down
