H0m narrow gauge tank car 99-01-98

Maybe you remember my first TTm design and PLA print of the 1000mm narrow gauge tank car - you'll find it here.

Now we have a design ready for resin printer in H0m scale. The picture of the finished car was made by Julius.

###About the tank car

The original tank car was built in 1900 to transport sulphur acid. [1]

The GHE (Gernrode-Harzgeroder Eisenbahngesellschaft, Selketalbahn) used this tank car between Gernrode and Fluor (siding named fluorine) until 1945. Fluor was near Straßberg. Sulphur acid is necessary for hydrofluoric acid fabrication. 1946 this siding as well a lot of tracks were removed.[3]

The car was later used as water tank for the firefighter train between 1955 and 75 [2]. Actually it is part of the collection of historical wagons. Finally we have a nice picture from 1983 as well as different drawings in [4] and [5].

I've got some actual pictures from a friend to close the gaps between drawings and reality.
Now the car is painted black with a light gray tank.

###Printing and building the car

I printed:

• tanks standing on the open side - helps for nice bolts.
• frame flipped 180° with light supports (auto created in Lychee and more added)
• rand rails standing with about 25° to the inner side

You have to cut or sand the small red marked pieces on the platform side.

You can add some weight to the tank or inside the frame, if necessary.

Feel free to use sprocket wheels, at the moment I tried 8,3mm wheel-sets for TT gauge.

Some little changes on the frame with tank bearings.

Added the frame and separate tank bearings to play with - but keep in mind, because of overlapping parts in original design, this will not fit without cutting/sanding.
