Light-up Snowflake Globe Ornament

Celebrate the winter season with this Christmas globe ornament featuring the design of 6 unique, real snowflakes showing through!

Light up the ornament with a bulb from a string of Christmas lights.

This can be printed with or without an ornament hanger. The 'without' option can be used if your lights fit snugly into one of the two light-bulb-attachment design. (see below)

There are two variations for light-bulb-attachment. The first is 9mm with a slot for a tab such as those found on some LED lights. The second has a variable width (cone shape) into which you can (carefully) jam-fit various sized Christmas light fixtures.

Two print-test light-bulb-attachment files are included (because who wants to waste filament, especially at Christmas).

Print Instructions

This is a lithophane, so certain settings matter more than usual. Infill is not used. Instead, increase the wall count until the entire print is filled. This allows the correct amount of light through the print.

Wall Count: 5-6+ (I set mine to 10 and it was more than enough)
Infill: none - the walls act as infill
Adhesion: Raft - 10+ mm
Supports: Yes

I use a rather large raft because the contact point of the ornament to the bed is rather small. I also chose to use supports for fear the bottom snowflake would have issues without them. Supports also add stability around the narrow contact point. I'm sure those of you who are actually good at this could print without rafts or supports, but I can't do that yet. :)
