Description
I am so happy with the way this design turned out.
You just Put the pill pack into the punch and pull the trigger, and the pill drops into the collection pot then when you are done popping just rotate the pot to deliver the pills to you
It is a punch for making popping pills a lot easier for the elderly, disabled or just when you get one of those blasted packs where the plastic is just too darn thick !!!,
It Comprises of 5 Parts,
The Frame
The Lid
The Trigger punch
The Pivot Pin
And the Punch card frame
The design so far works with all the pills I have tried, ranging from small and round to long and large, just select the hole with the best shape for the job, and it reaches to the middle of the pill pack easily, Also I do think it pops the a little cleaner if you pull the trigger faster than slower, but that is probaly a personal feeling.
You will need 5 of m3 screws, 4 of them to be around 10mm long and one no longer than 4mm so will have to be cut down with a junior hacksaw.
I tapped the holes first with a m3 tap but you could just drill out the holes to a little less then the screw you have, don't overtighten as you don't need much force to keep the lid on as the lid fits very snug indeed, when fitting the lid please notice a small indent in the lid where the round section is, you have to clip this part in first as there was no room to place a screw hole in that area, but once clipped in it works well and will not pop out.
You will also need 1 m4 Screw that is used for fixing the pill collection pot onto the frame the length can also be 10mm or longer up to around 25mm, I also tapped the hole for m4 so the screw fits easily. Again you can use any screw you have around the same size just drill out the hole to slightly smaller that the screw you have, but remember don't use excessive force as its only plastic.
When you assemble the trigger into the frame there is not much room to spare but it does fit easily once you get the angle right.
All the parts will fit on the build plate of the Bambu labs x1, but I decided to print it in two sessions as I printed the frame and frame lid in black pla and then the next print was in yellow pla as I wanted a two tone contrast,
It needs to be printed with a little support in some areas as there are at least five substantial bridges to be spanned, I use thin tree support and it only uses a small amount of filament
I have included the bambulabs .3mf file so you can directly load it into it and move files around and make changes if you so desire,,,,,,,, Have Fun !!
I hope this tool makes it easier for you to pop you pills,
This is a work in progress and the design may get better with time, but its ok for the time being.
I would love some feedback if you feel like it, but be gentle with me as I am new to this cad design thing and its a uphill struggle at the moment at my age, as fast as I learn one thing I forget two things. Hmmmmm
A quick update, I have found if you get a stubborn pill that won't drop out of the foil and into the pot, try this, with the trigger still pressed just twist the pill packet left then right a little and then it should drop,
