Description

This page has the old version of the wrist guard, the new version is here:

Flexible TPU base is pretty comfortable to wear, plastic elements protect your wrist and palm in case of falling. Two-fastener system is applicable for wide range of sizes. There are also eyelets for storing the excess of fastener straps.

This wrist guard will be useful for lovers of snowboarding, skateboarding, unicycles and other extreme sports.

There are two sizes of base length: 295 mm and 318 mm. First option is good for putting on without additional clothing/ putting on over a thin jacket and gloves or printers with a small bed. Second option is suitable for putting on over a winter jacket and gloves. Base parts are designed for the right hand, so for printing this parts for your left hand just mirror the model.

I used PLA+ for plastic parts, as far as I know it is the most durable of inexpensive plastics. Since printer settings and conditions of each individual print may vary, there are several options with different size of the fastener pins. Maybe you will need to print several versions to get the optimal fastening fit. Changing the print flow may also help. There are also versions without pins for fabric velcro gluing. The plastic parts must be bent after softening the plastic as shown on photo (the protective part is also available in a curved form), I used a hair dryer for bending. After it is done, the plastic and TPU parts must be glued together with super glue.

I tested this protection while riding an electric unicycle for six months almost every day, during these months I made several changes to the models. I do not recommend wearing it at temperatures below -10 degrees, at this temperature plastic becomes brittle. Also, the lower the temperature, the more effort you have to put in to close the fasteners. I fell on my hands several times and this protection worked well. However, it is not a certified protection and I can not guarantee that it will prevent impact damage in any situation.
