Truck Axle

I made this just for fun to be part of a larger project later. I hope to make it an entire truck one day but for now I thought I would share the axle because I'm really proud of how it turned out. The project is made out of PLA for all the main parts and then TPU for the tires. They could be made out of PLA but then you'd have to print the tire and rim together as they are designed to be made separate and then put together later.

The whole project is made to be put together using m1.7x6 screws and you will have to glue the one gear to the drive plate. I originally had them to press together but even with a super tight fit it kept working itself out. So sadly glue it is. The Left Bar and Right Bar parts will need to be glued to the main axle body but that is just to make it more functional and easy to print. I figured the three parts would be better than one super complex one.

Also I put it together dry with no lubrication of any kind at first and it did work good but I just rebuilt it with some grease pretty much everywhere inside and it is 10x better now.

For this project you will need to print:

• 4 tires
• 4 rims
• 2 hub caps
• 2 hub covers
• 2 axle shafts
• 1 right bar
• 1 left bar
• 1 main axle body
• 1 diff cover
• 1 drive plate
• 1 drive gear
• 1 main body
• 1 inner idler
• 2 inner drive

I may have forgot something in the list but hopefully that helps when putting it together
