Hello,
for those that don't know my ‘insert philosophy’ - I am creating modular inserts that are focused on reducing setup and space on table, filament consumption is not my highest priority, but of course I'm trying to save some material where I can.
Important Notes:
My main priority here was to fit as much as I can into the base box + reduce needed table space. 2nd aspect is still in progress - I plan to create section dashboards, that will be used instead of playmats, but that will come in the future.
Supports:
vertical storage - you can safely store it vertically,
some of the expansions - personal files, section pets, playmats all can fit without the lid lift (although you will need to empty secret envelope or not, but prepare for the lid lift),
partially sleeved - this is mainly designed for 70 microns sleeves (I use Sloyca), but other thickness should also fit, depends on how much cards you want to sleeve. I sleeved only cards that are shuffled and there is a lot of space still, so you can sleeve more, but it will be harder to look for cards.
This insert features:
section holders - 4 holders for all section related components - cards, sleeves, minis, pets, turn token, dices,
planetary exploration card holder - for all cards needed during exploration,
ship management card holder - for all cards needed during ship management,
discoveries + injuries + events holder - each deck has a separate space, important note - better to sleeve cards upside down,
dices holder - for all dices that are not yet used,
planetary exploration components holder - for all components like injury, danger, d4, d10 dices, purple cubes, main ship (I'm using it as a lander mini),
planetary exploration tokens holder - for all tokens like equipment, danger tokens etc.,
intro holder - for all cards needed for intro mission + other not needed spacer cards.
Requirements:
about 1260g (depends on your settings),
at least 217mm x 129mm print bed.
Instructions:
Supports - no supports required.
every file ended with xX (for example x16) - print X times (in given example - 16 times).
refer to pictures how to organize minis. Some of the minis have different base, so they won't fit in different slot.
What future holds:
I will include player dashboards that hopefully will fit inside the insert without lid lift,
Probably I will design insert for 2nd wave and Deadly Frontier expansion, but everything probably will go into Deadly Frontier box,
I have Close Encounters, but I don't think I will design insert for it - I'm thinking about selling the minis. If I decide to keep it maybe I will include them in Deadly Frontier insert.
Enjoy!
