An improved filament filter
Every sponge holder online involves passing filament through the sponge, then through a hole. Maybe I’m using sponges that are too soft but it always end up getting pulled through the hole with the filament and create strong friction. Occasionally causing layer skip. Also, most holders are designed for thick blocks of sponge, which doesn’t help.

This holder is designed to hold up the sponge like a fork. The sponge never needs to get close to the filament hole, and it doesn’t compress the sponge so it can be a thin piece. From my experience, it creates little friction, and I’ve never had a layer skip since.
