This dog bag dispenser attaches to any street sign post (parking, stop, etc), lamp post, telephone pole or fencepost, and can hold up to 3 rolls of dog poop bags. The goal is to provide an easy to use public dispenser, which anyone feeling generous can contribute to. This dispenser fits dog bag rolls which are 60mm wide and 34mm in diameter.
Pay it forward and leave a roll - your future self will thank you. The goal is less poop on the sidewalks and front lawns.
Let's get into it.
The Universal Dispenser holds the bags and will fit on multiple mounting backs. The various backs attach with a French cleat and a single zip-tie. This will fit a regular sized zip tie, but a small or medium sized zip tie may bend and fit better. Print the dispenser upside down, with the open top against the print bed. You will need to add supports for the bag tear-off tab.
The side holes at the bottom of the dispenser allow you to remove the cardboard or plastic roll core at the end of a roll.
The lid comes 3-ways: Lid No Text is blank on both sides, Lid Text Infill has only the top text (for monochrome or 2-color printing), and Lid 2 Color Text and QR has top text and a QR code inside (QR infill must be printed in white or light color, with lid in a dark color). When printing a multi-color lid, add the multiple STL files at together and they should sync in your slicer. The QR code links to this Thingiverse page.
The hinge pin is a length of filament. You may need to gently drill out the hole slightly larger to fit one in.
There are lots of mounting options. First are Post Bracket 1 and Post Bracket 2. These fit slightly differently profiled U-Strut "stop sign" pole mounts. There's also a Universal Back Mount which should fit most or all U-strut profiles on the reverse "outside" of the pole. All of these attach with the Bracket Screw Plate and mount using 3/4" #6 screws.
Metal Railing Bracket fits 1" square tube (like the post for hand rail steps), or a round metal pipe like a chainlink fence post or other smallish round pipe. For larger round surfaces like a street lamp, see the zip tie mount below.
Square Post Mount fits the newer 2" square sign tubes. This attaches with the Square Post Screw Plate and mount using longer 2-1/4", #6 screws.
Zip tie Mount Bracket attaches to round posts using 2 or 3 zip tie wraps around the pole.
Finally, there's a standalone Dispenser Wall Mount, a wall-mount version of the dispenser which uses no additional mount. This can attach to a telephone pole, fence post, or other flat surface. The back is concave to fit telephone poles, so don't overtighten the screw on a flat surface or you'll crack the container. Print the dispenser upside down, with the open top against the print bed. Again, you will need to add supports for the bag tear-off tab.
If these aren't enough there is a blank Remix Back Plate to modify to your hearts content.
Stop and Street Sign U-profiles are all subtly different. Test Fit Widgets is a single file of all three post-mounting profiles for a quick size check. Print these with minimal infill to check which mount you need to print at full size.

Update 5/3/2024 - I've added a fence post mount, and tightened up the U-Strut designs slightly to fit thinner metal posts. I have also found a 3rd U-strut profile which I will measure and design for soon.
