USB Power Bank for Ryobi 18v One+ battery

The RyobiUSB-MainBody.stl has been updated to fit the newer Ryobi batteries.
Ryobi changed the size of the retaining clips (the clips you squeeze) where they are a bit wider right at the sharp edge that grabs whatever tool you insert it into. The original design that I remixed it from had very close tolerances and the newer batteries will be really hard to pull out after inserting and removing them a few times. This new upload fixes that.

This was the best design back when I first made one in 2019 when I didn't know much about 3D printing and didn't know how to design/modify my own parts.

I made one for my daughter who uses it all the time for her phone and accessories at baseball/softball games so she can video the games for the GameChanger app. She had several friends that saw it and asked her to have me make them one. I made about four or five of them and they supplied the USB part to me to solder in.

When her current one broke she bought both of the new Ryobi USB adapters. First she bought the one with the 110V AC outlet and she said that burns through the battery really quick even when nothing is plugged in. So she bought the one that only has USB and she says that one still burns through the battery faster than this design so she asked me to make her a new one.

The first one I made was out of PLA and it finally warped and cracked so bad from the heat of the sun that it wouldn't snap on the battery any more. It lasted for five years though!

I was never a fan of the solid wire being used for the battery contacts but it was the best around at the time. If the contact point wasn't just right it could be intermittent or actually dent and damage the contact points on the battery.

Since then, Maker nafis discovered the actual Ryobi battery contact clips and designed a few makes around it. I remixed his basic design into this design and here is the result.

I used 14 gauge silicone wire as that is all I had with silicone insulation; 16 or 18 gauge would probably work just fine.

This remix is about an inch taller than the original in order to accommodate the Ryobi battery clip
I've included the STEP files for anyone that wants to modify it even more.

For anyone curious, that bulldog logo is for the highschool my grandson goes to, I thought I'd add that to surprise her. At the time of me posting this, I haven't given her the new one yet.
