Late WW2 Medium Bombers - Micro Scale

Having read about the failed German WW2 “Bomber-B” program, I decided to model some actual war-developed light/medium bombers. These models are original and have been “bulked up” to print at 1:350 for use in dioramas with 1:350 model ships, but they can be printed at popular micro-scales of 1:285 and 1:200 (123% and 175% respectively).

Tupolev TU-2S (Bat) - Fast attack bomber designed by Tupolev and his design bureau while in detention. Widely used immediately after WW2. NATO recognition name: “Bat.”

Bristol Buckingham B.1 - Design definition extended from pre-war until too late/not suitable when produced. Some used as couriers; basis of the Buckmaster trainer. Roles filled by Beaufighter and Mosquito.

Dornier Do 217K - Late version of the Do217 (originally derived from Do17), with “fishbowl” nose and other improvements. Do 217K-1 night bomber; Do 217K-2 specialized guided-bomb/missile carrier with extended wings, added fuel in former bomb bay, sank the battleship Roma.

Mitsubishis Ki.67 Hiryu (Peggy) - Excellent late war medium (officially, heavy) bomber with good performance and protection. Also used by Japanese Navy and as torpedo bomber. Allied recognition name “Peggy.”
