Description
This part replaces the airbag warning lights. More specifically, it replaces the lables in front of the LEDs. So you can either leave it blank or print it using transparent material and make it display any writing or motive you'd like it to. For the latter application, I use non-transparent foil and cut out my motive of choice. Use colored transparent foil, to change color. It is also possible to just print it (use the file "Folie", in addition to the file "Halter").
The idea originally comes from mx5things.com - so please visit Sergejs website for nice stuff like that. However, I measured and reverse-engineered this part from the original Mazda-part. It's not a copy of Sergejs work (his stuff is made using acrylic btw and of way better quality than what my printer could do - really check out his website ;-) ).
For installation remove the trim piece in the center console that surrounds the heated seat controls. Simply pull it in the direction of the gear shifter - not much force needed.
Afterwards remove two Phillips screws and disconnect the plug behind the panel (push down a little lever for that). Then use a T10 to remove the two small screws on the backside of the panel and afterwards carefully pry open the six hooks, holding the circuit board onto the plastic panel. The rest should be self explanatory.
