Spyro The Dragon - Angle Slider Fidget Toy

Finally, an example of one of the reasons I made this fidget toy. I wanted to be able to customize them by putting my own images onto them. This time around though, I decided to use the iconic image from the game since its easily recognizable, and its one of my favorite games.

The image was rendered in a couple of different ways. One method i reduced the image down to 4 colors and created some SVG files out of the colors. This allows for a perfectly flat and smooth image. But its hard to keep the detail. To get that you will really need the 3MF file included. And i would highly suggest printing with a 0.2mm nozzle to keep the detail.

The second method was using Hueforge. Which is one of my favorite 3D rendering tools. I used that to make a printable image. I then created a mask using it, which i then embossed into the fidget toy. After that, i inserted the hueforge model into the cut out portion on the fidget toy. This allows the image to be recessed.

Printing this is like printing any other hueforge art. Except you dont start switching layers until close to the end. This has a nice effect of also giving the art a nice outline. The outline feels like it belongs in my opinion.

I would suggest using the Variable Layer height tool so you can make the layers on the picture thin, while the rest of the model is thick. You can see my example in the pictures. I also provided in the pictures the relative layers I changed colors at to get this effect. For me i started at layer 29.
