Description

This is by far by best centrifugal compressor yet, performing about 60% better than other designs at its limit. It produces about 6.4 PSI of boost pressure at 88,000 RPM. This is however right at its limit, with the impeller and motor exploding at around 95,000 RPM
In fact, there are few motors that can spin that fast, so I had to overvolt a less rated motor to test its limits. It also generated a significant amount of compression heating and could only run for about a minute at a time before the printed parts needed to cool. it also takes a ton of power with the motor drawing about 3.2 kilowatts before it exploded.

Manufacturing and supplies:
Most parts except the motor plate should be printed in a high temperature filament such as PETG, PC, or ASA. the motor plate should be made out of 3-5mm aluminum to best dissipate the motor's heat. For gasketing, Use 1.75mm TPU filament and press it into the gasket grooves to make a near-airtight seal. Get a high power brushless motor in the 2000kv-3000kv range, with the highest possible RPM rating. (you can usually push it 50%-90% faster than the rating before it explodes) Choose a collet prop adapter to secure the impeller to the motor shaft. also, 20x #6x1/2in screws are needed to assemble the housing.

3D printing:
Print all parts at high infill in a hi-temp material to avoid thermal damage, pressure damage, and explosions.
diffuser: 100% infill, use support, slow print speed
impeller: 100% infill, no support, slow print speed, retry if imperfections occur
shroud cover: 60% infill, 2mm top & bottom, 1mm wall, use support
motor spacer: 40% infill, 1mm top & walls
motor plate: do not print! - or at least use only as a template reference
motor cooler: 20% infill, 1mm top & wall
pyroflask adapter: 60% infill, 1mm top & wall

notes:
do not spin the impeller faster than 95,000 RPM and improperly printed impellers may fail sooner

Test at your own risk as this has been my most explosion-prone compressor and you may be injured or die if you are impaled by sharp plastic shrapnel.
