WARNING: STUPID BACKSTORY BELOW

A pilot dubbed "chicken" by his squad mates due to his cowardice, selected for an experimental surgery by the Direct Universal Machining group.

His squad had been decimated while defending one of the planet's last iron mines from pirates. "Chicken", however, was found to have attempted to hide himself for the entire battle, only to be discovered by the pirates who burned him within an inch of his life.

This surgery would save the pilot's life, but in exchange the pilot would participate in an experiment where his body would be permanently fused with the internal systems of a new mech: a melding of man and machine. As this pilot was seen as property rather than as an individual by his superiors, "Chicken" had no say in the matter.

This new mech, dubbed Yakitori (fried chicken) by its designers due to the current condition of its new pilot and the coincidentally digitigrade legs of the mech, would be found to be highly effective in the field.

Something had changed in "Chicken", whether it was due to the surgery or his traumatic experience is unknown. He would often be found attacking enemies without any weapons when deployed, utilizing the digitigrade legs to kick enemies to the ground and using the mech's bare hands to rip into their cockpits.

The experiment was deemed a success, and new candidates for mass production are currently being scouted.

Sorry about the stupid backstory, it's just been something I've been thinking of for a while. So I just finished Armored Core 6 and had a really good time with it! While I didn't often use them, I really liked the look of the chicken legs in the game and decided to design a mech that used them. I was also inspired by the elites from Halo. I wanted to make a mech that sort of looked creepy, hence the longer limbs and the monoeye head. I also wanted to try a new hip design I've been thinking about for a different project I will hopefully finish soon, one that used a pin but with no head to not disrupt the rounder shape.

I also included a backpack adapter so this mech would be compatible with backpacks from my previous mechs.

Unfortunately I'm rather busy at the moment so I didn't have time to create any new weapons, but all hand held weapons from my previous mechs should be compatible.

The Yakitori Mech was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing.

Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate).

I hope you enjoy. Please send feedback as I may create improved versions of the figure in the future.

Depending on your printer and plastic, some light sanding and/or tightening of parts may be required. Tightening may be done via thin layers of super glue or multi-surface floor polish.
