Description

2nd version of my wire link, insulator, and whatever you want. all in one.

From the original thing (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6724591). Truth is, I like the S style thing better and it seems stronger (testing neeeded). However, there may be a reason you want this one (I call it Jump Wings for the striking resemblance to a Parachutist Badge.

M5 threaded post and a S hook. Inspired by something called "Cord Lock" at Ace hardware.
As you can see, you can use it for strain relief OR for a end insulator on a dipole, efhw, etc.
Please don't judge me for quickly mocking this up and using the wrong knot, or not heat shrinking to your liking, this is a post for a 3d design I am sharing.

I print with 6 walls, 80 percent infill, ASA. I also need to add strain relief on at least one side.

Here's what I did:

Took a ring connector, cut the heat shrink off it,pushed it into a looped wire, heat shrinked it down (I didn't have ferrules),left myself enough at the end, and put a ring (connector) on it.

i probably could make these a little thicker with the height, to make them more durable. Printing with TPU or nylon would be the best option, but you may lose the threaded M5 insert.

Now,

Go do a linked dipole, efhw, or more. Enjoy.

Please go have a great time challenging yourself and learning while having fun!

Other notes:

Pictures show a combination of configurations, Photo one is a insulator with cord on one side and string on the other. Picture two shows what happens when you have too much wire after the loop (on the right), vs when you have just enough (left). Also, it probably explains why a little strain relief on the Dude Lock would be good (I'll get on that).

Designed to fit a #8 ring connector fairly well.

Have a good one. If you make one or a video, I sure would love to see
