"Tip for you and any that use this, open the gauge and remove the little metal part that makes friction on the ruler. This will make the ruler/measuring stick free float so you can rest it on top of the string without having to press down. Much more accurate, give it a try, if you don't like it then you can just reinsert the metal part"
