Description
An adapter used to connect two different size tubes (or pipes). This adapting connector is to connect a 1" Outside Diameter (OD) plastic pole tube to a 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit pipe (~3/4" Inside Diameter, ID).
We have some Tikki Torch lights for landscaping, which use sections of 1" plastic tubing as the support pole. The wildlife around us (especially young bull moose) tend to knock these down and break the poles. 3/4" PVC conduit pipe approximates the outside dimension of these pole tube sections, and is much stronger. However, the inside connectors provided by the torch manufacturer to mate the pole sections do not fit inside the conduit pipe. So, I designed this adapter to match the inside dimensions of the PVC pipe on one side, and to match the plastic tubes of the torch poles on the other side. The broken pole tubes can be cut off and re-used with this adapter as needed to mate with the main PVC pipe, cut to any desired length, as new torch poles.
Source files for the 3D design, done in FreeCAD, are provided if you need to customize any of the parameters for your own special pole-pipe matching.
