Description
TAZ and Lulzbot fans worldwide,
This is a work in progress only because of the amount of data needed to get all the info listed here on Thingiverse. The LaZ16 printers have been built, are proven and the three completed printers have completed hundreds if not over a thousand combined hours of printing small and large pieces.
Is your TAZ too small for the things you really want to print? Does your girlfriend tell you that she wants a full sized FrostMourne sword for her collection? Get the biggest printer on the block and print an Iron Man suit or Thunderlord rifle today!
I have been sitting on these models for about a year and am currently finishing up my 3rd build of the LaZ16. This upgrade replaces most of the printed parts on a TAZ1-3 with stronger and revised pieces incorporating many individual upgrades listed here on Thingiverse and many more created by me, to give a TAZ a greatly increased build area of 400mm cubed.
I will soon be giving credits and adding and filling out the BOM listings with current pricing and locations to acquire the various hardware to perform this upgrade.
These modifications flips the X axis and extends the X and Y axis to 600mm replacing the smooth rods with 12mm 600mm long rods.
At this point you can save all the Z axis hardware and not replace the rods or frame extrusions.
With just replacing the four vertical aluminum frame extrusions you can extend the Z-axis by 50mm for more printable height. On complete builds we include 650mm tall extrusions and 600mm long smooth rods and threaded rods increasing the Z-axis build height to almost 400mm tall.
Yes! I have the beautiful 400mmX400mm Kapton heaters for this bad boy in 12V and 24V. Contact me here if you need one quick and look for them on Ebay soon. I also have these huge complete printers for sale with a four week lead time.
More to come as I get a chance and think of the needs.
