Description
I needed to replace a 90 degree quick connect fuel connector that was leaking in my car (not good!). This connector needs to be inserted into some semi-rigid plastic fuel line (PA11-6). As I don't have the official tools to do this, I decided to design (with Fusion 360) and 3D print some of my own to suit. It is a bit of a MacGyver solution, but it works!
The 90 degree connector is supported by the flange on the circular block. The plastic fuel line is clamped in the rectangular blocks with some M5 bolts. I then used a cheap caulking gun to force the connector into the fuel line. I recommend soaking the end of the fuel line in boiling water for a little while to soften the plastic hose as considerable force is required and the fuel line would slip in the clamp when it was not softened.
