Description
Increased the the inlet diameter from 63mm (2.5”) to 70mm (2.75”) to maximise the size of the tight bend.
Increased the outlet diameter to 65 (2-9/16") which is the same as the throttle body diameter. (I originally tried making this 70mm but had clearance issues between the top of the radiator and the underside of the bonnet).
These changes mean the cobra intake is no longer the "restriction" in the system.
(note: although the MAF has a diameter of 70mm, its cross sectional flow area is much less due to the internal geometry. A crude model of the MAF can be found in my other designs)
Redesigned the middle portion to have a more consistent equivalent flow area over its length (as square pipe of the same area doesn't flow as well as a round pipe)
Increased the wall thickness to 3mm so it can be easily 3D printed and added barbs at either end to prevent the silicone pipes slipping off.
Have a look through my other designs for the model of the 90degree elbow.
The air filter used: K&N RU-3190. this was the largest filter (larger should equal less pressure drop) that would fit behind the bumper and not clash with the horn or the power steering lines.
22/12/2024 update: added extra text above to clarify a few questions asked, and, added bambu studio project file containing print settings
Thank you Alex for the original file.
