Description

The first experimental evidence of the internal structure of atoms was obtained in 1897 by the British physicist J. J. Thomson. Based on his investigations, he proposed an atomic model that became known as the “plum pudding model”. The 3D representation of this model consists of a three-dimensional yellow sphere - symbolizing the positive charge of the atom, evenly distributed, in which small red spheres - representing the electrons, are suspended and scattered irregularly, like raisins in a pudding.

(pt-BR): A primeira evidência experimental da estrutura interna dos átomos foi obtida em 1897 pelo físico britânico J. J. Thomson. Com base em suas investigações, ele propôs um modelo atômico que ficou conhecido como o “modelo do pudim de passas”. A representação em 3D desse modelo consiste em uma esfera tridimensional na cor amarela - simbolizando a carga positiva do átomo, distribuída uniformemente, na qual pequenas esferas na cor vermelha - representando os elétrons, estão suspensos e espalhados de forma irregular, como passas em um pudim.
