Description

The iconic stage where the Peanuts gang put on their Christmas Play and Snoopy’s Happy Dance made its television debut. The fully assembled stage is 390 mm wide x 520 mm long, which is big enough to accommodate all of @reddadsteve multi-part Peanuts characters at 150% and a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. The stage is designed such that bases and flooring can be disassembled into manageable sized pieces for storage. I’ve coated the flooring with Gorilla Glue Clear to give the stage that classic school gymnasium floor look, as well as to hide gluing errors. FYI: keeping the flooring array straight is the biggest challenge, especially if you are C2-symmetrically challenged. The Endboards intentionally do not perfectly cover the flooring sections (they are 5 mm short) to allow for assembly errors. The gap in the back of the stage will eventually be hidden by the curtains that will snap to the back of the stage. Happy Dance Snoopy is uploaded! ******************************************* Print Instructions ******************************************* * Resolution: 0.4 mm unless noted. * 10% fill (grid) unless noted. Earthy Brown: PolyTerra PLA Earth Brown * Stage bases Classic Brown: ELEGOO PLA Brown * Floor and Front boards (0% fill and printed on their 2 mm edge). * Endboards 60, 80, 110, and 130 mm are 5 mm shorter to allow for assembly/gluing errors (0% fill and printed on their 2 mm edge). Black: eSUN PLA+ Black * Stage Floors (Only 1 bottom and top layer to reduce printing time) * Stage Snaps (0.2 mm @ 100% fill) ******************************************* Print Numbers ******************************************* Stage Bases: * (1) AA, AB, AC, AD * (4) BC3 and BC4 Stage Floors: * (1) AA, AB, AC, AD * (6) Floor double * (2) Floor single Floorboards: * (2 sets of) Frontboards AAAD and ABAC * (72) Midboards 140 mm * (12) Endboards of each 60-, 80-, 110-, and 130-mm board (20) Stage Snaps ******************************************* Assembly ******************************************* Flooring: Any alternating pattern of front boards will give rise to a realistic flooring pattern. I chose 2, 4, 1, 3 (see Fig. 1 below). The length difference (Short, Medium, Long) for each board in the AB and AC sections is a bit hard to see without aligning them next to each other. For the AA – AD floor sections, glue the Front boards using a fast-drying glue (e.g. super glue). After the Front boards have fully dried, align the BC3 and BC4 floor sections behind each AA – AD floor section and glue in the 140 Midboards into each section using the pattern in Fig. 1, sliding the 5 mm shiplap seams under or over each other in the flooring. Use a slower drying glue to allow for adjustments. I prefer Gorilla Glue Clear because (1) it’s easier to remove from your skin and (2) it dries with a high gloss finish that looks like gym flooring. Finish the back part of each section with the matching Endboards in Fig. 1 before the glue dries on the 140 Midboards. Once the four sections are fully dried, place section AD on a flat surface and snap the remaining sections (starting with AC) to it until the floor is fully assembled. The section snaps are not meant to be supportive; they are to align the sections and allow the stage to come apart for storage. Stage base: Arrange the bases as shown in Fig. 2 and use the stage snaps to click the stage together. The stage sections can be glued to keep the front of the stage perfectly aligned if desired. Place the flooring on top of the stage base and arrange your Peanuts characters how you like.
