Heyho

Since thingiverse is still not providing the possibility to add pictures check Makerworld or Printables for a better describtion ,-)

There are many cool tests out there to check your tolerances and other critical limitations to your printer. I love them since you can simply dial in the settings for new materials with them and be sure that your prints will be in gr8 shape!

Only thing I did not like about all these cool tests is that they only check a specific problem or need a lot of time and material to be printed.

So here I have my own design: It is concipated to show the weaknesses/ strength of your ptiner/ settings and to improove them consecutively. Also you can destroy it to check for the printed parts strength!

Features:

1 - Tolerances

I added different Segements to test your tolerances from 0,05 mm to 0,25 mm. a) By using the lever and a high force and b) by pushing down the pins.

2 - Overhangs

I added different Overhangs from 25° to 45° gradient.
3. Stringing

Check your retraction settings/ filament dryness etc! Stringing will be visible very soon! Good Settings and material will leave very pointy tips!

4 - Strength / Flexibility

You can destroy the whole part if you like to :D But I like to destroy the bridge on top, break out a lever and for the flexibility test I added the lips (0,2 - 1mm thickness).

For the Layer adhesion I added a small tower: Destroy it with a tongue!

5 - Bridging

I added a small bridge on top and you can check for the briging quality at the bottom for bigger flaws/ problems!

6 - Flow Calibration

You can check your flow settings by investigating the quality of the top layer. But I also added a feature with only 1 Wall thickness at the top. Use some good calibers to check if they are 0,45 mm thick! (only for 0,4 mm Nozzles) If not you can adapt your flow calibration value!
7 - Ghosting

I added the tolerances on the side of the part so if you have some ghosting problems they should show up there!

    • First Layer Test.

Next to all the features above I added my logo as a very small and delicate test to the bottom of the Design. If your printbed has some good adhesion and your nozzle is in good shape it should print without any problems!

(9) - Consecutive Testing

If you want to solve some problems I uploaded 3 Designs with small markings on top of the bridge. So you can see what iteration you are looking at :)

(10) - Dimension accuracy

You can measure different spots to check how accurate the dimensions are. But if you want to get a better check here you need to print larger tests so the difference value created by tolerances will increase and be easier to measure.

x: Inner Cube: 18 mm
y: Inner Cube: 12 mm
z: Tower: 18 mm

I hope you like my attempt to a slim all in one Calibration test device!

If you are missing sth. or have improvement suggestions feel free to contact me! :)

Have fun!
