Description
You might already know my tiny 1-up keychain. But how about going bigger? How about a Giant 1-Up?
For this mushroom you are the extralife!
This 1-Up needs a really big printer (252x250x200mm build space). So sorry, you might need a bigger printer.
The shroom will waste more than 1.2kg filament and takes at least a day to print (in six batches).
Do not say, I have not warned you!
Print preparation:
Make sure that your print bed is clean and grease-free and use quality brand and dry filaments. I cannot stress it this time enough: You need a clean build plate. Otherwise you print will fail! So wash your build plate with soap and water now. The sheer size of the print increases the risk of a bed adhesion issue.
Print settings:
Use 0.28mm draft settings for everything. I like to reduce the speed of the outer walls to improve the quality and the stability of the print. Support is not necessary but a brim for everything is highly recommended. Use four walls, seven tops, five bottoms and variable layer height. This will give your print a smooth look on all round surfaces.
Now comes the important part: Use 35% lightning infill - this will reduce print time and filament use drastically.
See my 3mf file for details (Bambu Studio & Orca Slicer).
Assembly:
Glue the spots to the cap and the eyes to the stem. Then put the cap on the stem. You can use glue to secure the cap, if you want.
Advice:
If you print the stem without any bottom you can fill it with stones or even concrete afterwards. This will make the model very heavy - perfect for outdoor use.
And now hide it in the garden and scare your cat!
1-Up!
