Update (25.8.2025): I have designed stronger (hopefully, I am not an engineer) connectors - files for the "stronger" version are enclosed. Today, I have replaced all connectors in the shelves and if there will be another issue, I will make a new update here. I printed these "stronger" connectors from PETG with 100% infill just to be extra sure.
Important update (12.8.2025): After about 6-7 month I now noticed a slight sag in some shelves. The weight of the model seems to play a role but now in the summer, at certain time of the day, sun shines directly at my selves for quite a bit. Since I printed this with PLA this might be a significant factor as not all shelves sag equally. The largest and heaviest model (the dragon on top) does not seam to sag at all or very little for me to notice, but lower shelf with Enterprise model (which is relatively light) sags the most.
At the moment I recommend printing in PETG, but I will try to come up with more reinforced connector when I have the time.
Update (17.2.2025): By request of
Downloadblt, I have added a Honeycomb storage wall adapter. The adapter uses modified file "insert-hollow-for.stl" originally made by
RostaP, author of Honeycomb storage wall. See: https://www.printables.com/model/152592-honeycomb-storage-wall
I made myself a collection of small display shelves for my printed models. The base of the shelf is a 200x20x2cm wooden plank attached to the wall with small shelves attached to it, but you can connect the shelves to the wall directly if you want to. As you can see from the photos, I hanged my plank vertically with shelves on left and right in alternating pattern. In the files you will therefore find 3 types of the shelf:
- one for the left side
- one for the right side
- one for the middle
Before printing, please keep in mind:
- The shelves are designed to hold very lightweight things only!
- The parts are designed to hold together with friction so they are very tight fit. Depending on your machine, some light sanding down might be necessary. On my A1 mini it was fine.
