Description

A space-efficient case for the BetaFPV Air65. Note that other canopies may not fit in this case. It is also designed for the BetaFPV 300mAh Lava batteries (but also works with the standard ones). I used two 19.7x6x1.8mm magnets to hold the lid closed. They aren't very strong, so I'd recommend editing the design to suit what you have. Most of it is parameterised in Fusion360 but I designed it in a rush because I needed it for a flight.

The case has 13 battery slots which enclose the plug connectors, and is also designed to hold a cell checker, prop removal tool, spare canopy, and spare set of props. However, I have managed to squeeze in an addition set of props (8 total spares) and 7 additional batteries (20 total). The total outer dimensions are 110x90x48mm, so overall nice and compact. I also made sure it can hold any number of batteries up to 14 securely (assuming you keep one in the drone). i.e. if you only have five batteries, that's one in the drone, one in the single slot, and the remaining three together in one slot - no room to bounce around.

There is also a template for a piece of foam to go between the batteries and the whoop, just for a bit of padding and to hold everything a bit more snug. I just cut this from the packing foam which came with the Air65. It's very low density and 5mm thick if you're looking for something similar. Not necessary however. You may also want to add a bit of string or ribbon to make it easier to get the batteries out, but I didn't bother and instead just dump them out.

I printed mine in ASA for something that will hopefully hold up a bit better, but if you're going to do this make sure your settings are dialled in because it’s definitely not optimised for bed adhesion. PLA should work no problems though.
