Description
I havent seen any design for something like this, where you're able to display your CD's on the wall, while also being able to easily take them on and off, not require any screws, and also look cool.
There's only one solution to fix this, and it was to design myself my own CD holder to mount on the wall, designed so that i could use a few pre-cut double sided mounting tape that i had a bunch spare lying around, both so that it can be easily mounted on the wall, and in big quantities, as well as not have to drill any holes into the wall (though do make sure you've done a good job painting on or wallpapering your walls, otherwise the double sided tape might rip a nice suprise into your wall (defo not me))
the CD's are secure in place, with both mounting pressure, as well as the design keeps the cases hooked in, and give a satitsfying click when taken in or out of the holder.
the design will also help you put all of the mounts up, where there are notches on the design where you would have the CD display staggered in a brick pattern in halfs, or more of a step style in thirds if desired, so that it all lines up, and wont require loads of measuring after the initial few CD's are put in.
I've also tested different types of CD cases, which all work, from half thickness CD cases, to the paper/cardboard cased ones, though kinda obviously, double thickness CD's wont fit, i guess not all CD cases work then... sigh
the specific double sided tape that i used was made by make & create, where it comes in a bundle of 320 pre-cut pieces, as well as a 5m role of it, and the specific precut dimentions were 25mm x 15mm, though all you need to care about for this design is the 25mm dimension, as thats how high the CD mount is.
Edit: thought i should mention this to people before it happens to them, but if youre planning to use the double sided tape that i mentioned, id reccomend keeping it out of the sun/heat, as i found that some of the mounts which were in direct view of the sun gotten unstuck, so you either need to place the mounts in a place where there isnt much heat/sun, or find some better double sided tape which can better withstand heat and the sun.
