Description
Direct drive adapter for Ender 3 Neo Series
• Ender 3 Neo Max & Ender 3 Neo
Print with PETG or ABS (Something with higher heat than PLA - You might get away with PLA but I always do PETG myself)
Based on Drivinator concept but created from scratch.
Printing: Print in current orientation with no support. Consider adding a brim considering the low amount of contact to the bed.
Installation:
Dis-assemble the Carraige and remove the extruder and extruder motor from their current positions
Insert the Two Wheel spacers in the two bottom holes
Attach Extruder and Extruder Motor
Position in place temporarily to measure where to cut the PTFE tube to size (Start at about 22mm above the top of the coupler. Trim down from there)
Attach to Carraige and position back in place and attach and tighten wheels
Note: You likley need a longer Extruder motor wire or extension (This is the only part to buy or make)

Or just wire and solder yourself an extension (I.e. Cut the wires in the middle and attach similar wiring - Mark the sides on both pieces before cutting)
Note: Any change to direct drive requires a firmware change to support it.
For Marlin you would need to locate and set the below:
Some precompiled options might be out there but I always configure and compile my own marlin firmware.
"E3 NEO Direct Drive Adapter (Cable Guide with-ziptie).stl" snaps into the square holes on front to allow you to secure your cables from the hotend with a zip tie. You can optionally add a tiny dot of glue.
