Description
I needed a case for the Raspberry Pi 5 with Active Cooler that was as slim and simple as possible — meaning no excessive supports. The design does not require any supports and only has minimal bridging at the SD card slot.
This is an updated version of my previous Raspberry Pi 5 Active Cooler case. The old version had a closed bottom and required a pen to reach the power button. This new version has a grille at the bottom for better airflow and cooling, plus an integrated button in the housing that presses the Raspberry Pi 5 power button directly. After printing, the printed button may need to be carefully loosened with a small knife so it can move freely.
The case is designed to use M2.5 threaded inserts instead of nuts for a cleaner assembly. I used M2.5x4 threaded inserts together with M2.5x12 screws.
The last pictures show the angle at which the Raspberry Pi should be inserted into the base, as well as how to position the lid so that the four legs near the LAN/USB ports latch into the base.
