Swinging headphone bracket for (Yeti mic) Blue/Logitech Compass arm

Otherwise the bracket arm needs to bend just a little to get a snug fit on the Compass arm. I printed in petg from Atomic Filament perfectly.

THIS DESIGN REQUIRES ONE 608 BEARING AND ONE M6 BOLT AT LEAST 30mm LONG in addition to 3d printed parts.

I printed with a .4 nozzle, .3 layer height, 1.0 width for speed. 3 walls, 3 top/bottom layers, 10% gyroid infill.

I have been hanging my headphones over a Blue Compass microphone arm for YEARS, but when I push it up and out of the way often the headphones will slide off the back, on to the floor, or just out of reach. I decided to use this as an opportunity to jump from Tinkercad up to Fusion360 and in the process made a ton of mistakes.

However, in the end, I have a bracket with one or two headphone hooks that looks nice and only requires a 608 bearing (I used a zz/2z, but I think any 608 bearing would work) and a M6 bolt at least 30mm long. There are multiple models to choose from, but I've only actually printed the “bracket_original_left” for myself.

The cutout in the hook is sized so the bearing is press-fit, but the M6 bolt will hold it in place after tightening if yours is loose.

Print all parts with the flat-side facing the build plate. No supports should be required for any part.

If your bracket has the capture nut cutout, print it with that hole facing UP. If not, either the front or back side facing up should work.

Choose (1) bracket, (1) hook, (1) collet, you may additionally/optionally need (1) or more spacer washers and (1) bracket_cone

Parts description:

50mm hook: the hook will hold up to 50mm wide headphone bands (measured front-to back)

60mm hook: up to 60mm wide headphone bands

Bracket file naming:

the original bracket has protrusions on the “left” side, if you mounted the thicker bracket arm on the “left” while looking at the mic in front and the arm going away from you.

SPLIT_side1/side2: split with a wedge to print separately, slide together around your Compass arm to avoid needing to use more forgiving materials such as Petg.

bracket_left_: one hook attach point, to the “left”

Bracket_right: one attach point, to the “right”

bracket_both_xxx: leftattach, rightattach: two hook protrusions, either “left” or “right” mounted.

bracket_5.5mm: hole sized at 5.5mm so you can easily use a tap set to make it m6

bracket_6.5mm: sized slightly larger than a M6 bolt, and easily used with the capture nut from a furnature assembly kit to torque the bolt in.

bracket_cone (optional): if you printed a single hook version and want to add a second later, just print it and attach on the opposite side (seen in my video for my second headphone pair)

collet: used to fill the space between a M6 bolt and the 608zz bearing to reduce or eliminate wobble

spacer washer: if you tighten the nut all the way but the bracket rubs against the hook and doesn't spin freely, print this washer to add 2-3mm spacing
