Description
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS MY ORIGINAL DESIGN! It is NOT FOR SALE and NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE. I have been getting some hate because I generously offered to print these for people via my Etsy shop (ShearConfectionFiberMill). Please do not hate on me when I am literally giving you access to my STL file so you can print it yourself! I only offered to print these for people for a fee because some people in my network do not have 3D printers available or generally just don't know about STL files, and it is NOT free to print. If I print it for you, I have a lot of costs to bear, in materials and equipment, in addition to my time. I wanted to help people get these without having a 3D printing technology hurdle for them.
I created this myself and if you print it, or download it, please consider thanking me rather than criticizing me or complaining that I haven't done enough!
======
I've added a second STL file which has the addition of a rod holder for weight. You have the option of printing with or without that rod holder. The original Ultimate Sweater Machine comes with a rod used for weight and this comb will accommodate using that original sized rod.
I'm sharing this for non-commercial, personal use. This is a 17 tooth cast-on comb to fit the Ultimate Sweater Machine that has an 8mm span between teeth. Cast on combs are usually wider, but you could print multiple of these and connect them end-to-end. I added some holes to hang weights and for connections. This is a work in progress and I'm open to ideas on how to make this more useful or if I got something wrong.
The first one I printed didn't have holes for attaching a connector plate of some kind and that is the one you see in the photo, however, I modified the print to have those connection holes now and that's in the STL file for download. I also changed the bend angle a bit to make printing a little easier.
The way I use this is with the stretchy elastic, that I place on the open teeth, then place the comb. If you use elastic, the comb teeth will not be in the way of the machine. In the photo I'm showing how the teeth fit my USM, not how to use the comb.
This is an original design I created from scratch, without compensation so I hope that others will not take it and sell it, and will not make prints of it and sell those. I would like to keep it free for everyone for personal use. Thank you!
