Description

This is a fairly specialized print I made for myself but maybe it will be useful to someone else looking for something like it.

I have had a lot of sinus issues and so my doctors often suggest sinus rinses or neti pots. One of the simplest of these devices is a squirt bottle called the "Neilmed Sinus Rinse" bottle, available all over the place. I prefer to do my sinus rinses in the bathroom, but I didn't have a really sanitary way to dry it there after using and washing it. This is a simple rack that holds the bottle and the nozzle in a way that lets them air-dry completely, making minimal surface contact to avoid contamination.

This should not be a challenging print. Maybe use a brim to hold the corners to the bed. Beyond that, normal settings should do just fine.

This is meant to be a "consumable", just like the Sinus Rinse bottles themselves which are supposed to be replaced periodically. Since sinus infections may be a reason you need to use the bottle in the first place, if you are sensitive to the possibility of microbial growth on the rack over time, I suggest printing in PETG which should prevent growth better than PLA. I feel comfortable using a tray for a few months and replacing the tray when I replace the bottle. It's a fast and light print, so it's a simple matter to print a new tray any time you want to replace it. PLA would also be suitable, but it might be wise to replace more often. For the record, I haven't done any studies, I'm just following my instincts about these materials based on things I've read about food safe printing and bacteria, and trying to fit that knowledge in this context. Use your own best judgment.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, this is not a medical device. Follow the instructions that come with the sinus rinse as to how to keep it clean and sterile, and when to replace your Sinus Rinse bottle. I hope this helps anyone struggling with sinus issues, but I'm not responsible for anything that happens as a result of someone printing this design and using it.
