Description
This spare parts/toolbox was designed to organize and store common spare parts for the Qidi Plus4 3D printer. There is also a removeable tool tray designed to hold all tools provided with the printer.
You will need 6 M3 x 30 socket or button head screws. The screws will self-tap into the inside mounting brackets and should stay without any further attention.
The parts insert is a close fit in the box and may be too tight depending on printer settings and filament shrinkage. I recommend doing some test prints to determine proper fit before printing the complete box.
There is a place for the mounting bolts supplied with replacement extruder, extruder fan and hot end. The holes for the extruder and hot end are threaded, but I suggest you run a tap through those holes from the bottom BEFORE placing the insert into the box. It can be difficult to remove once in place. The hot end fan mounting screws are self-tapping.
Print box, parts insert and tool tray bottom down on the build plate. Print the box lid top down and latches on edge. No supports are necessary unless you choose to use them for the void on the underside of the tool tray. That void is necessary to clear the extruder. There is a lid seal included, but not necessary unless you need the box to be water tight.
The box was derived from one created by Whity on Printables. https://www.printables.com/model/258431-rugged-box-parametric
UPDATE 5/02/25 - Modified the tool tray (V4) so that Allen wrenches fit better. Deleted tool tray versions 2 and 3. Updated .F3D and .STP files with latest changes.
UPDATE 4/16/25 - Added .F3D and .STP files to download
UPDATE 3/27/25 - Added an additional Tool Tray file (V3) which has increased slot length for the longest Allen wrench. It seems some printers shipped with a different wrench than what was included with mine.
