Description
Howdy,
I needed a way to exhaust the hot air from the servers at work into the ceiling space. I decided on using the removable panels that are on the server rack for cable passthrough as a mounting point for a duct.
The little ‘nodules’ on the side are made to hold 15x5mm magnets which I purchased on AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007349419716.html? - Just add a pause at the layer before it prints the top and pop the magnets in. I recommend securing them down with a dab of glue to stop them jumping to the hot end as it passes over, which they will do.
Aside from that I used basic supports for just the overhanging section. No supports were needed for the internal of the part.
I have included a few files. The example in my image was printed on my Ender3 V2 and took quite a bit of time but the end results is very clean. It connects together well and with a bit of glue is very solid.
The other files are available for anyone with 350mm build area. You can orientate the part diagonal, and it will fit.
I made a 6inch and 4inch option also for people that may want them, these are untested but look fine.
To confirm compatibility the dimensions of the part that slot into the server is 55mm X 340mm. I'm not sure how universal those slots are, but every rack I've ever used has the same size slots.
I hope this helps someone out.
