Description

Like many people, I use big washers as pattern weights when sewing. When not in use they tend to bounce around being clutter. This spindle holds them in a neat, easily accessible format. The figure pattern on the base is from Ipsec's triskelion.

I recommend using lots of infill, as the connection between the spindle and the base is under torque pressure when you take the weights on and off unless you are always very careful. I am not that kind of careful.

The weights I use are 1/2" x 2" washers, available from Amazon here. These don't get rusty and aren't covered with machine oil, so they can be used directly on the patterns, but there are lots of attractive pattern weight holders on Thingiverse if you want to cover them.
