Description
Ready to take your chances playing this game? The rules are pretty simple, with 1-6 players, fill 5 cups up with something that's tolerable (like water maybe?) then fill the 6th cup up with something that the 'loser' gets to drink (just suggesting lemon juice here, but use whatever you'd like ;) ). The cups can be filled with solid things too, possibly a gross jelly bean in one and normal jelly beans in the other five. The possibilities are endless here... Give it a spin and drink/eat whatever is in the cup directly in front of you, did you get the 'loser' cup? Play with friends and try to guess who got the 'loser' cup by the look on their faces.
Other possibilities: Use this roulette wheel as an additional tool for other games. For example, when playing Monopoly, any time someone lands on a railroad or utility they get to spin the wheel... Add the chance and community chest to this for some real fun!
The 'spinner' on the top makes a convenient carry handle for transporting all 6 shots around, it's a lot easier than carrying them individually without the holder that's for sure!
For background on the project, check out the YouTube video I made for it:

Printing:
I like to use heavy infill for functional prints like this, I used 30% gyroid for these ones with a thicker wall (2-3mm) to give it plenty of strength. The balls need a rigid raceway to spin in so a thicker wall would be best for the base and the revolver. The cage needs to be printed basically solid, but it's a small part so the 2-3mm walls should do the trick. The spinner (or carrying handle) also would be better as a heavier wall, you wouldn't want to be carrying the setup around and have it break on you would you?
Orientation:
In the photos there is a photo of all the items on the build plate in the orientation they were designed for. If you follow this picture you shouldn't have any issues.
Supports:
I used no supports, and they are un-necessary if using the orientations shown in the photo.
Pieces:
In the photos you'll find the three shot glasses the models are designed for: Glass, Solo, and Plastic with the dimensions of each of these cups and the associated revolver just in case you are using something else. The files to print are also labeled with Glass, Solo, and Plastic. Depending on the shot glasses you intend on using, this will drive the models that you need to download, each prefixed with Glass, Solo, or Plastic.
Qty's for each are as follows:
Spinner - Qty 1
Base - Qty 1
Revolver - Qty 1
Cage - Qty 1
Clip - Qty 3
You will also need (8) eight, 6mm diameter airsoft BB's to use as the balls in the bearing.
Assembly:
I've put together a video showing how I assembled the three of them, they're all the same assembly really just different sizes. These roulette assemblies are put together much like the ball bearings I recently posted and the fidget spinners that derived from the bearing.
-You'll need a piece of cardboard approximately 4mm thick (or 3/16" thick) with a small hole cut in the middle for the inner race to sit into during assembly. This aligns the inner and outer ball raceways.
-Offset the inner race all the way to one side then drop all (8) balls into place.
-Move the inner race to be concentric with the outer race then position the balls equally around the raceway.
-Place the ball cage over the balls to hold them in place. You may need to adjust the balls positioning slightly to get them into their positions.
-Once the balls are aligned with the cage, the cage just snaps into place over the balls.
