Fox Transfer Actuator Fix

It seems like these snap or crack often and the replacements run $50. I designed this to salvage the broken part to create something stronger and objectively better then fox's design. It was tested on a 30.9 post but I imagine it should work on a wide range of dropper post sizes as you will use the threads from the original actuator to mount.

Instructions for assembly:

  1. Remove old actuator from post (twist with pliers or vise counter-clockwize)
  2. Remove 4mm pin from actuator body
  3. Cut/Sand off any broken parts of actuator until top is flush
  4. Print Model
  5. Use model as a stencil to drill 4mm holes in old actuator body
  6. Install hardware & assemble (see hardware list, photos)
  7. Screw in new actuator body

Installation Hints

  • Pins and nuts are tight fitting. Use a vice or parallel jaw pliers (Knipex pliers wrench) to get parts to go in straight.
  • Don't over-tighten screws. Let the nylon nuts do their job. Loctite not required but recommended.

Part List (see third photo)

  • Original Actuator Parts
  • (1) M4x25mm Steel Dowel Pin (or similar)
  • (2) M4x20 phillips machine screw, narrow head
  • (2) M4 Nylon Lock Nut
  • (2) M8x8mm Set Screw (optional)
