Description
There are some lovely landing craft models out there, but not much on Thingiverse. Also, some of them are very detailed and really call for a resin printer, and others, even in 15mm scale, are over two feet long! That's a lot of real estate for a model whose on-table purpose won't last beyond Turn 2, so I decided to make up some quick and easy-to-print ones in Tinkercad.
They are not exactly scaled, and are not exactly historical, but they get the point across. If you print them in grey filament and time is an issue you could probably even get away without painting them. The total inner deck space is 42mm wide and 180mm long. This will accommodate two Sherman Crabs or two Churchill AVREs, which are the longest tanks in the landing force for my upcoming Juno Beach game, in 1/100 scale.
There is one file for the stern half of the craft, one for the bow half with the ramp up, and another with the ramp down. You can glue the halves together or switch them out on-table when you drop the ramp, whichever floats your boat.
If you'd like to remix this to add details, please feel free; all I ask is a credit and a link to the original.
