Description

The Waveshare ST3215 serial bus servo is a good quality servo, but attaching things to the device can be difficult because of the non-standard placement of screw holes and clearances needed to move the actuator.

These files create standardised mounting points along 4 sides of the servo.

Some things to know:

  • The parts can be 3D printed without the need for support, just orient them appropriately and print.
  • Because of the tight clearances, it is recommended to use a sturdy print material for longevity.
  • Parts can be fixed to the ST3215 servo using the screws provided with the servo, no need to buy additional hardware.
  • Parts can be connect to each other using 4 standard M3 machine screws. The spacing of the holes are standardised to allow rotation at 90 degree intervals. It is recommended to tap the holes first with an M3 tap.
  • The mounts connected to the body may overlap as they use the same mounting points (see image). It is expected that you will not need to connect the 'back mount' and either the 'right' or 'left' mount simultaneously. Other combinations are fine.
