Fast to learn, but with chess-like positional tactics, brutal dice rolls and fun maneuvers:
my addition to the open source 'Squadron Leaders' dog-fighting board game tweaks some rules, adds a plethora of star wars fighters, new game modes, and a bunch of helpful utility stuff (ruler, case, tokens, etc)
All credit for the origional game goes to this awesome team - I want to thank them tremendously for enriching the world with free, fun boardgames.

Check the subreddit post as well (for rules discussion and whatnot)
A lovely game - can be played with 2 to 12 players, the rules fit on a single sheet (included), and it allows for some tight positioning, epic comeback moves, doesn't need much room, and can pack down into your pocket.
Some notes about printing here:
- Everything made to print without any supports!
- Everything made to print with a stock single-color FDM printer
- For dice, you can simply glue-in the icons after (or use markers, paint, w/e)
- You could use a layer color change, if you like, for tokens, the case lid, etc
- The 'foldable ruler' is print-in-place. Typically, in your slicer, you will import 1 of the ruler/hinge segments, then 'load' the other stls as 'modifier parts' (to ensure it is all positioned correctly). Then simply print, work the hinge back and forth to loosen, and it should stay together forever.
- Included is a test print-in-place hinge to see if the tolerances will work for you. I recommend slowing your printer down for these parts.
Some notes about playing the game:
- My rule sheet here is 'non-cannon' - I've made some tweaks, added rules, removed rules, and not tested extensively.
If you don't like anything, feel free to revert to the original rules - or experiment with whatever you think is best, and inform the community with what you learn!
- The insert can be slid out of the jar for easier loading/unloading
- One case/insert won't hold everything - but it can hold enough for 4-6 players. If you want all the ships, and 6-8
- I wanted 12 ships (one for each stat permutation) and a full list of 'individual ships' (so some warbirds, but mostly ships that would 'make sense' for a smuggler free-for-all)
- I'm working on another list of 'alliance v imperial' ships, for more 'team' battles - again, with 12 ships (6 alliance and 6 imperial) that cover the full 12 stat permutations
I've included some blank files for you to create your own, and the Onshape CAD is here so you can add your own fighters / make any changes you want!
This is not the only way to play the game! Check out the original game for a different solution for cases, rulers, different theming, etc.
Any other ships you'd like to see me add to the game?
Anyone want to think up and test rules for flagships, ground targets, or anything else?
Please let me know! Thanks!
