This thing is my remote controlled "Death Probe" from the 70s TV show 'The Six Million Dollar Man'. The 'Death Probe' appeared in two different seasons of the show. Mine is from the second appearance where the dome was added. This is not a screen accurate version. Mine was designed by looking at images I found online. I think I got most of the features in but they are not to scale.
The remote control unit is a '2.4G 8CH Remote Control with Receiver Board' from AlieExpress. It can drive 4 DC motors on, off, or reverse. It cost under 10 USD. The wheels are driven by 2 blue metal gear TT motors. The turret is rotated by an N20 gear-motor. The dome is raised up and down by another N20 gear-motor. The N20 motors are rated 30 RPM at 6 Volts. I wouldn't advise using a faster motor. The toy has a battery compartment just like any toy you would buy. The hinged battery door is printed in place as part of the base. I added 2 white leds wired in parallel for a power on indicator. They illuminate the clear windows. Each led has a 120 Ohm current limiting resistor.
The leds are optional. The controls operate as you would expect except for the dome raising and lowering. It just raised and lowered by a crank and scotch yoke so the direction you pick on the controller doesn't matter.
The top octagon turret is held in place by magnets. A brass rod and 1/8 inch RC wheel collar allow the dome to be raised and lowered by the Scotch yoke.
