Description
A simple hanging hook to keep your air hose with your portable air compressor. Designed specifically for the DeWalt 26-gallon, 175PSI upright portable (wheeled) air compressor (DXCMSAC260) shown in these photos. Print two of these hooks; mirror one for a symmetrical look, as shown. I tried to keep this minimalistic, so it is secured to the compressor's mounting rack with zip ties through the provided slots, and rests on the crown of the tank for added hook support.
Printing Suggestions
This part needs to be strong, so the thicker you set your slicer's wall thickness, the better. I used 5 wall lines (2.5mm) with my 0.5mm nozzle, so adjust for your printer nozzle. I used 30% infill. Printing in the orientation provided in the .3MF and .STL files provides the best linear strength (minimal layer separation). No supports needed for most printers.
The hook as designed is intended for the right side. For the 2nd hook (left side), I just mirrored it on the print bed with the mirror function of the slicer.
Installation
Attach the hook to the curve of the compressor's handle support bar with two heavy zip ties - these just support the position of the hook; the weight of the hose is supported by the hook design, including resting the bottom curve on the top of the tank for additional support.
The design file for FreeCAD (.FCStd) is included here, if someone needs to fine-tune some of the parameters.
