Description
I designed this broom / mop handle thread adaptor to connect a standard broom handle thread to a 18.4mm OD post with M10x1.5 threaded stud, as shown in the photos. The mop handle thread is 3/4-in × 5 TPI ACME (29° trapezoidal form) although the thread depth is less than what Onshape's ACME thread tool thinks is standard, so I had to carve out a larger inner diameter. As printed, it is a bit tight on the handle thread. I had to work it a little by threading on and off the handle, to get the surface roughness worn down enough to get it fully threaded on. On the other end, my part just has an unthreaded 8.5 mm ID hole so after printing, I used a regular M10x1.5 tap to carve out the M10 threads. The aluminum post (with 5/8-11 UNC thread on other end) was what came with a small cheap no-name, disc-type RTK GNSS antenna for mounting (see photo). My 12 foot long telescoping duster handle is too flimsy and bendy for real surveying accuracy, but this was just a quick test anyway.
