Key rack with a wall mounted rack to hold five hooks. The lid opens and reveals whatever you place on the top panel.
NOTE: The cat STL is not included in the files, it was purchased. I recommend checking out https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-persian-cat-467939 if you want a similar version.
Assemble as follows, I recommend using a 1.75mm drill to clean up the holes on all objects after printing, this allows the panels and lid to operate freely. Cut four 6mm lengths of 1.75mm filament for hinge pins, these will be used to connect the Lid, Lifter A and Lifter B together. Insert Lifter A into the sockets of the Lid, press the pins into the hinge points. Make sure the panel can move freely in the sockets, a little light sanding prior to assembly can help if it drags or binds. Connect the two panels together with the two remaining pins, glue shouldn't be necessary if you used the 1.75mm drill bit. Place the two lifter panels in the bucket, pass a length of filament through the hinge point near the bottom of the bucket and the hole of Lifter B. if necessary clean up the holes with the drill bit to ensure it can pivot easily. Insert the hook through the bottom of the bucket, make sure clearance allows it to move up and down easily. Press the clip into the slot of the hook, align the bumps to face downward, glue may be necessary to hold it in position. Position the lid in its final position, run a length of filament through the hinge points. The space available on Lifter A is limited by the mechanism, using VHB tape to adhere your character makes adjusting the position much easier. Place on rack after it is mounted, I used a spot of VHB tape to hold each bucket in place, this allows the buckets to be removed and exchanged with other characters when desired.
The lid should open easily when the hook is pulled, the lid may need to be pressed closed when the weight is removed.
UPDATE: A request from the comment section was for a two slot wall hanger, I have created one, two, three, four and five slot versions of the wall hanger and uploaded them. Enjoy!
