Description
This is the model I cut on my Hobby CNC based on the 2 previous remixes.
I used Fusion 360 to draw and the built in CAM to make this.
Now, does it work? YES.
It handles the recoil of my 44 Mag just fine. I again used the drill rod to locate the sight I drilled 0.1mm undersized holes and then push fit the correct size rod in. ( and by push I mean I hammered it in) I tapped the mount holes into the aluminum I taped the biggest I could fit through the sight ( M4 If I recall )
The 6/32 screws that mount it on top is a real Pain. As per before I trimmed them till they held tight fitted them one at a time to make sure they grabbed they are different lengths and then thread lock to keep them in.
NOW a caveat: I used a cheap dot to test as I wanted to make sure it worked, the older printed was a good proof of concept. This one holds very well. however the cheap dot doesn't do that well with 44 Mag recoil ( yea no kidding ) so the dot doesn't hold zero anymore but the mounting is rock solid after around 100+ full power loads.
Ill replace the dot and keep testing.
I may redo this as a pic rail mount to allow quicker swap outs.
