Description
Built from scratch with Fusion 360. This is intended to be snapped onto an LDS sacrament tray to hold and cover gluten-free bread and prevent cross-contamination. A 2mm stainless steel rod must be inserted into the hinge (probably overkill for strength, but it's cheap https://www.amazon.com/Eowpower-20Pcs-Stainless-Steel-Airplane/dp/B071JH9N93). The top part of the hinge is very tight, as the hole is 1.65mm. I cut the rod length so it is just a bit shorter than the total top hinge width. I prefer to heat the rod with a lighter (and needle-nose pliers, since it can get hot) and twist and push into the top hinge straight before I finally attach it to the bottom and push the rod through the whole thing. I also close up the end holes with a sacrificial heated rod and melt the plastic so it can't come out. There is a spacer that also snaps onto the tray. It will help maintain the correct level so that the holder will sit on the tray and not cause misalignment of the lid if the holder sits skewed.
