Description
This is a simple clip for some Lifetime kayaks seats. I am using in a Daylite 8ft, and my Spitfire 8ft looks like it could use it, too. It comes with holes you can put a ziptie through so you can ziptie it to the seat swivel rod and not lose it. You snap the clip on top of the seat swivel rod holder in the kayak.
It's customizable in case you have a non-Daylite seat with a different thickness of the swivel rod--just play around with the extra_width and shift parameters (2.75 and 1 worked for my DIY seat).
I actually made my own seat, as I bought a Daylite without a seat. I cut it out of 3/4" plywood (template attached), painted it with three coats of outdoor paint, and I cut a piece of PVC pipe that snapped nicely into the kayak's seat holder. The PVC pipe was slightly higher diameter than the standard swivel rod, which is why I needed to tweak the extra_width and shift parameters (see the shifted version). I filled the PVC pipe with a wooden rod that I had lying around and that fit nicely. Alternately one could 3D print a filler for the pipe. I then screwed the pipe between the legs of the seat.
